This role plays a vital part in ensuring a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors, while adhering to health and safety and infection control procedures.

Pilkington Ramblers was founded in 1988 for Pilkington retirees and friends to regularly keep active and to socialise. They hold a monthly coffee morning at the Wicket on Ruskin Drive and undertake a walk each month. Currently the group has 60 members.
Key responsibilities of a Volunteer Walk Leader:
Location of Walks
Coach Trips, April – October
The group organise a coach to visit areas a maximum of 1.5 hours away.
Walk leaders need to be available from 9.15am until 6.30pm on the day of the walk.
Local walks
November – March
These take place locally with no transport provided.
All out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed including travel and food.

I looked after my Mum in her later years until she passed away and I was feeling at a bit of a loss when she died.
I decided to volunteer at Pilks as I wanted to help others and give something back. After I finished working, I looked after my mum who was living with dementia and my dad who had a stroke, I know I made a difference to my parents and I wanted to make a difference for others.
